Venus’s visit through steady Capricorn will end on February 1st, 2013 as the planet of love makes its transit to friend-focused Aquarius. When Venus occupied the constellation of Capricorn, our love style focused on materialism and success. Not to say that Capricorn prefers superficiality, rather that Capricorn’s standards in a mate must reflect the high standards they establish for themselves. Aquarius, the Water Bearer, takes the “come as you are” stance, thanks to the Air sign’s unconventional romantic attractions. Capricorn needs a sound, consistent partner while Aquarius revels in shocks & surprises. The experimental nature of Aquarius clashes violently with conservative Capricorn—so we can expect to see this peculiarity affect our partnerships.

When Venus is in Aquarius, there is a very relieving acceptance of what it is we want in a relationship, and not necessarily what society believes is best for us romantically. Aquarians are nontraditional, eclectic, imaginative & highly spiritual beings, unafraid to express who they truly are and what they desire in matters of the heart. As unique and individualistic as they are, Aquarians also see value in “the whole picture.” We can be certain that this collective outlook will manifest itself as we search for true friendship to underscore the current romantic partnerships in our lives. Of all the signs, it is incredibly easy for Aquarius to love, but ridiculously difficult to fall in love. This is primarily because Aquarians rely on mental energy to connect with others, as opposed to, say, Sagittarius who relies on physical interaction. You’ll need to tap into the mind of an Aquarius before they hand their heart over on a platter. Conversely, Venus in Aquarius will force all of us to connect mentally with our partners: the abstract bond created (or strengthened) during this period will blossom into something much more beautiful.

Positively, once Aquarius has fallen in love, they are pleasantly shocking ! These rebellious, intellectual and detached lovers seek progressive mates who love freely and openly with no reservations. The conservative aura that Venus in Capricorn placed in our lives these past few weeks will definitely evolve into emotionally demonstrative freedom. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself testing the boundaries of the status quo in defense of your relationship. During this period, we may make major decisions like: move in & cohabitate with lovers or find ourselves blending families with mates who already have children. Perhaps we may even get news of an unexpected pregnancy, before talks of marriage is in the works. Naturally, Venus in Capricorn would cringe at any of the aforementioned prospects, but Venus in Aquarius prefers to do things her own way.
The first few days of February will bring good energy to our romantic lives !

On February 5th-6th, Venus in Aquarius will parallel Pluto in Capricorn to create an “all-consuming” energy surrounding love matters. Relationships [including the repair of one, the creation of one, or the illusion of being in one] become primary concerns and extremely important. We want an emotionally over-the-top connection with our mates that we can boast about. Our thoughts about love may be borderline obsessive.

On February 6th, Venus in Aquarius sextiles Uranus in Aries, bringing our experimental nature to the surface.  The love planet’s temporary residence in unexpected Aquarius coupled with inventive Uranus positioned temporarily in Aries, we become open (and excited about) taking risks in our bonds. Trying new things, finding new solutions to old problems, or even visiting new venues with our mates underline this care-free period. Explosive sexual energy can also be expected. When Air (Aquarius) and Fire (Aries) get together, the oxygen helps to fire to “breathe” and spread endlessly. Positively, the interaction between these two planets influences us to try something steamy, unconventional and memorable. Negatively, this is not a “commitment friendly” transit as the influence of Aries &Aquarius emphasizes freedom from constraint/restrictions.

On February 7th, Venus in Aquarius will trine Jupiter in Gemini creating a benevolent cloud surrounding romantic relationships. We are extremely idealistic in love matters on this day: often promising more than what can actually be delivered, simply because we are “high on life.” Any agreements made with a love interest or spouse on this day may fall to the wayside by February 10th (when Venus squares Saturn). Now this doesn’t mean you or your partner didn’t mean the Emmy-esque declaration of love given, it’s just that intentions without the ability to follow up causes confusion and disappointment. If you aren’t in a relationship, but hoping to solidify one, this transit may color your judgment: possibly tricking you into believing sweet nothings or reading too much into gestures that are merely friendly in nature. Expansive Jupiter positioned in social Gemini coupled with romance guided Venus in unconventional Aquarius means that we are exceedingly optimistic and chatty with others in our environment. Conclusively, we are gregarious and harmonious at this time, taking the path of least resistance. We must be careful not to set ourselves up for emotional heartbreak at a later date.
