The Royal and Loyal of the zodiac is moving into the spotlight this week: it will officially be a sizzling summer! On Thursday June 27th, Venus ends its visit in sensitive, home-body Cancer to slide into fancy-pants Leo. Bring on dramatics! When Venus moves through Leo, partnerships are engulfed in cliché romantic gestures, beauty and all things glamour. Image is everything during this transition. The very quiet and subtle love style of Venus in Cancer melts into the flamboyancy of Leo. Venus in Leo thrives on flowers, gifts and any other type of tangible evidence of those love feelings. We may be a bit more vocal to others about our relationship or potential relationship—as opposed to Cancer, whose feelings and movements are normally shrouded in secrecy. Boastful Leo wants to show off and tell the world how much better their spouse is compared to  anyone else’s —–and we can expect this to manifest into our own partnerships in the most unexpected ways. If you are looking to finally get a crush’s attention, Venus moving into Leo can be that big push that you need. Taken? Leo reintroduces some of that spunk experienced during your “honeymoon phase.”

Between June 27th– July 22nd, it is very likely we are more open to taking romantic/financial gambles. Maybe you feel ballsy enough to ask him out on the date instead of waiting around like an old maiden. Or perhaps you are finally ready to propose to the woman who’s been supportive of your obsession with Monday night football. Unlike Cancer, Leo doesn’t believe in “playing it safe.” With Venus in this sign, the motto should be “go big or go home.” We want to adore and be adored…spoil and be spoiled: loyal Venus in Leo expects to be numbero uno in their mate’s life. Leo needs constant praise and affection, if not, Leo can become very bossy and unforgiving. Now this should not imply that we are willing to accept a cheating spouse when Venus moves through other signs: it simply means that our feelings of jealousy areheightened while Venus cruises through Leo. As a Fixed sign, Leo does not respond well to sudden (or frequent) changes; subsequently, changes in our relationships could produce more emotional distress than usual.

With Leo, regardless of the planet positioned in this constellation, brings huge ideas to the forefront. Of all three Fire signs, I’d like to think Leo is the most creative. So with the planet Venus in Leo, we can expect our relationships under this transit to be guided by major inspirations connected to leisure/recreational activities, hobbies we have, and romance. When Venus journeys through Cancer, we are ready to nest and settle down —even if only temporarily. Our relationships are tinged with emotional subtleties and the need to connect with our mates on a deeper level. Now, with Venus in Leo, we are ready to be “out and about” with our mates [or out and about on the hunt for our next one]. Negatively, the imagination of Leo can get away from them at times; consequently, in our partnerships, we are all inclined to create mythical, fairytale-esque ideals about our relationships that are wayyyyyy off base. Leo is occasionally (okay, okay, mostly) flirtatious—-even when they don’t mean to be or even if they don’t realize it. Unfortunately, a slight instance of harmless flirtation with another person could escalate into a full blown steamy affair in the mind of Leo.

The grandiose nature of Leo is ultimately what attracts others to them: all of us may take on this bigger than life attitude in the romantic department. Over the next four weeks, when Venus is harmoniously angled to other planets, we are warm and generous in love matters. We want to share our happiness in social environments with those we care about. When Venus makes disharmonious angles to other planets, we are inclined to behave egotistically, immaturely, and selfishly.

Overall, Venus in Leo will create a deep need to be recognized and accepted by our significant others in our partnerships. We seek colorful unions cloaked in white-hot passion. Artistic Venus feeds on the energy of beauty-driven Leo: love, luxury and life describe the Lioness perfectly.

Those with their Sun and/or Ascendant and/or Venus sign in the Fire (Aries, Sagittarius, Leo) and Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) family will experience this transit more favorably than those of us without.
