In addition to the Sun moving into Leo today, we have Venus leaving Leo to journey through Virgo for a few weeks. This is a very sensitive place for Venus as the planet is in her fall when positioned here. Just as Venus does wonderfully in Taurus and Libra, it can behave poorly in other signs. Astrologers believe that Venus is uncomfortable in this constellation. The generally easy-going nature of Venus clashes with Virgo’s need to critique every..single..thing..all..the..time.
Venus governs what we value in our romantic partnerships and how we express that value to those we are dating (or interested in dating). Venus in Virgo values practicality in their romantic relationships: they need a partner who doesn’t spend so much time talking about what they want versus making things happen in the partnership. Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) on the whole, are the “doers” of the zodiac [just as Air signs are the “communicators”, Water signs are the “feelers”and Fire signs are the “dreamers”]. So it’s only natural to assume that with Venus moving through an Earth sign for the next few weeks, we are inclined to demonstrate tangible evidence of our love and affection for our mates. During Venus’s stay through Leo, the motto was “go big or go home!” in the truest sense of the phrase. Leo is bold, flirty and very extroverted—so these traits may have subtlety manifested in our partnerships. Now, Venus is inclined to hold back: conservative Virgo isn’t one to lay all their cards on the table.
Instead of spending $100 on a fancy meal, we may opt for an intimate dinner in the living room: picnic style; instead of buying our spouse three dozen roses at work, we may opt for that new coat they’ve been needing; instead of shelling out money on extravagant gifts, we may opt to fix things up around the house. Virgo is efficient and enjoys organizing things in their physical environment (I love to call them the ultimate micro-managers). So whatever planet is moving through Virgo, we are emboldened to create order out of chaos in those areas of our lives. With Venus handling our romantic affairs, organizing and maintaining structure in our love life is paramount to us at this time. Things you’ve been meaning to take care of, issues you’ve been meaning to address, messes you’ve been meaning to clean up will all be processed by the uber proficient Virgin.
This transition will greatly impact those with their Sun, Ascendant or Venus sign positioned in the Earth and Water family.
